Not your father's favorite....

As I excitedly rush down the stairs to show off my new outfit to my parents, my mood suddenly shifts down a gear as I notice my fathers questionable “look.” Every time I get "the look," I know something is wrong. Then I remember that my father hates holy jeans, which I was proudly wearing. He doesn't understand why people spend money on something that is already torn up and destroyed.......however I think they are “stylish”! I will be honest, I don't always love holes in my pants, but I do love how my new boyfriend jeans hug my shape in all the right places. My new light-wash boyfriend jeans have been a lifesaver on days when I am in a rush. I had no idea that they would be so versatile!
Today I decided to pair these jeans with my ankle boots because I wanted to show them off (my other jeans cover up these shoes WAY too much and don't give them the attention they deserve). Ankle boots are a great way to transition from winter to spring, especially when worn with bright colors and flowy dresses (leggings, of course, are still necessary).
This top is my favorite for all seasons because of the thin navy stripes. I can’t flip through a magazine without noticing trendy stripes, whether it be color blocked, bold statement stripes, or thin little ones on the cuff of a structured blazer. Stripes are a fashion staple that have been around and continue to accent wardrobes. I am ready to wear them loud and proud! Complementing this shirt is a navy blue necklace accented with gold beads from Dressbarn. If you have never been to Dressbarn,  I highly recommend it for accessories as they always have pieces on sale that are trendy enough for any outfit. They are perfect for fashionistas on a budget!
With my father’s now hilarious expression still on his face, I finish off this post with a request....to see how you rock your favorite jeans! Send me a picture of how you style your favorite pair of jeans! Best picture will go on my facebook page!

Oh, and this lovely dog is my little baby! Her name is Hailey and she decided she would follow me around as I shot these pictures, so I decided to include her...she was surprisingly very cooperative!

Red Kiss

Hello Everyone! Today is just a quick post to inform everyone about Valentine's Day!! Yes, it is the month of love, but for those of you who are spending it alone, don't feel bad. Today, I am giving you a list of my "top things to do" by yourself and with friends! So, let's get started!

A day of fun (NO BOYFRIEND NEEDED)
Who says you need a man in your life to have fun!? You can have a blast this Valentine's day by treating yourself to a whole day of fun.
you can.....
Get a Mani-Pedi- hot pink of course!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eat Some GOOD food! Whatever your favorite restaurant is, treat yourself to a nice dinner or even lunch.....can you guess what my favorite restaurant is...(leave a comment below)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have a girls day! I'm talking about a sleepover, chick flicks and of COURSE chocolate. I suggest looking online for some recipes and with you and your besties, make your own cupcakes (and  remember to take lots of pictures to cherish those memories).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Go to the movies with a bestie! Endless Love comes out on Valentine's Day and I can't wait to see it:)
 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOP THING!
So, this has to be my absolute favorite thing to do on Valentine's day because it's sweet ,easy and truly is from the heart. On Valentine's Day, I like to bake goodies from brownies to cupcakes to chocolate covered pretzels and put them in cute boxes and give them to people. Depending on the person, I even write them love notes (parents, siblings, dog, creepy guy down the road..kidding). Giving home-made goodies is a great way to show someone how much you care and love them and everyone loves sweets.

Wintry Mix

This was me in between shots trying to stay warm!

**Before you read anymore I want to apologize for the picture quality, I used my old camera instead of my new one. I was afraid to take my brand new camera out in this weather so I used my old digital one! On the other hand I did freeze my butt off getting these pictures for you all so enjoy!**

So I am completely aware that these shoes don't match but I could not go barefoot! (I tried and after 10 seconds I could not go anymore!) Today for the first time in years it snowed! I was so excited because it meant no school and that I would get to do a snow post! I definitely took advantage of the snow all day-I changed outfits so many times to ensure I would get multiple blog post out of this rare day. The other outfits are "winter appropriate" so I look forward to sharing those in the next couple of weeks!

For some insane reason I decided to throw on a dress and take my chances with frost bite! This dress which I bought at JCPenney is a lovely blue which really popped in this late night snow. I usually wear this dress on a warm summer day poolside but I switched a lovely blue pool for a blanket of white! I honestly had a blast shooting these pictures, while they are not as clear as I hoped they are still hilarious!
Dress- JCPenney $16

Snake Eyes

As I walk through the school hallways, I get these questionable stares.....if you like what you see, take a picture--it will last longer! I'm just teasing, but seriously, every time I wear these shoes people either love them and tell me to "work it" or stare at me like I'm crazy for wearing heels to school! Anyway today's outfit was inspired by these snake skin beauties that I matched with a purple clutch that is part of Kohl's Jennifer Lopez collection. I decided to make every accessory purple and add this pink jacket (courtesy of my sister's closet) to make it "pop" and add a dash of sweetness to counter-act these vicious shoes.
My favorite thing about these heels, besides the design, is that there is an ankle strap. Ankle-strapped heels are a blessing in disguise because they allow me to walk long hours without discomfort and give me reassurance that I won't fall and break my neck!

Shoes- DSW $17
Earrings and Shoes- Kohl's
Pants- Aeropostale $5
Jacket- Sears- $10 (sisters closet)

Fashion X Crossing

ATTENTION! ATTENTION! READ ALL ABOUT IT!
Dear fans,
Penniless Prada is going through some "changes"...good of course. I have come to the idea that I don't need twenty pictures of the same thing (exaggeration) or a couple paragraphs to get my point across. In the case of fashion photography less is more! I just get so excited when I blog I tend to overdue it. Never the less I hope you enjoy the new and improved Penniless Prada as I change things up and give a new idea to the term fashion!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fur (fuax fur, I love my animals) and curls is always a must for the cold winter days. Fur is something that can turn any outfit from dreary to fabulous in less than five seconds. And ladies pin straight hair is out this season....straightening makes hair look flat and lifeless so this winter switch your every day straight hair with vibrant voluminous curls. Knee high riding boots from a little box under my tree complete the look and top off this cold post!

T-R-A-P-P-E-D

I finally got the chance to try out my new tripod! Bored out of my mind with nothing to do but bundle up and escape the below freezing outdoors, so I decided to blog. I was really debating whether or not to do this in color but I decided to do it in black and white and title it "T-R-A-P-P-E-D". Trapped from what? The outdoors,my own mind, the world around me? Instead of me bluntly stating what this post is about I would rather you , my viewer, decipher it for yourself. Be creative and comment below what you think this post could be about. Could all the answers be right...? We will see, so enjoy my official first post of the new year!
