The Lace Umbrella

Enjoying a cold Friday afternoon, I decided it was time for another post! I wish I could post every day, but sadly I don't have that much time on my hands. Today I decided to embrace the old days with curls, bright red lips, darkened brows and of course a vintage dress.
The sunlight worked well on my pink lace vintage dress very nicely.I am in love with vintage but it is so hard to find vintage pieces for a good price except for when you go shopping with me! Can you guess what I paid for this dress? Online on various vintage websites maybe a couple hundred dollars, but not at my favorite store --Goodwill! This dress cost me $3.00!! I knew it was mine the second I tried it on and no one was taking it from me! The dress does not call for a belt but I really wanted to show off my waist and a small belt is the best way to do it.
Another reason I am head over heels for this dress is because it is so versatile. I can wear it as you see (with my blue and pink flower shoes (see my post "Orange Blossom") or with black tights, heels and a belt. Or you could pair it with a military jacket with military boots (which I am still on the hunt for).
My hair is even done the old fashion way with velvet hot rollers! But I must say the rollers worked very well considering I only paid $4.00 at a thrift store.
Makeup is clean with a little blush and deep dark brows. I used a brown eyeliner and then a small bit of eyeshadow (brown). My lips are colored with my new favorite lipstick, L'oreal British red, and I am in love with it because it smells great when I put in on, it is long lasting and looks fabulous!  I highly recommend it!
The umbrellas are just a prop that I thought would really spice this blog post up. I think they fit in well and I really enjoyed using them.
Dress- $3 - Goodwill
Belt- $1 Thrift Store

(It's sad that my lipstick costs more than the entire outfit)
